Discover the bounteous treasures from the days of yesteryear at A Kinders Garten's Vintage Homeschool (AKGVH).

This website was created by a toothless old hag ooopps, I mean 55+ year Veteran Vintage Educator who realized now is the time to share with other like-minded Homeschoolers, Family Day Care providers, Elementary Private or Public School Teachers her time-tested vintage educational teaching resources and methods before she dies > OUCH!!!

So, let me introduce this 55+ year Veteran Vintage Educator to you. Her name is C.S. (Cindy Sue) Calkins aka "Teacher" to the young and "Teach" to the older. She began teaching at the elementary level during the mid-1960's and left the unified school district in 1979. In January of 1980, she and opened up her A Kinders Garten school at her home before her own children were even born. She contracted with the state food and nutrition program to provide nutritious meals and snacks for her enrolled students. The teacher also contracted with the federal government through the state to provide immersion and transition education to the children of political refugees. She also taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and is a certified Missionettes Leader. The Teacher taught, fed and nurtured many a child over the decades and now she homeschools her 9 grandchildren.

The Teacher also has a nursing degree and taught Geriatrics classes at the Unified School District to  grades 6-12 children which included a weekly "clinical" instruction at the local Nursing Home in her curriculum.

She also taught beginning sewing at the Unified School District Alternative and at the Community College District Adult Division Bayside Center.

She wrote and obtained grants from PBS public television and the University of Wisconsin to teach beginning sewing to teens at her home as an "after school enrichment" elective. She wrote a beginning sewing for teens curriculum which included a "Teen Fashion Show" held at the Local Town Hall on the Congressional designated "Safe Night USA." date, June 5, 1999.  Congressional Record, Volume 145 Issue 78 (Thursday, May 27, 1999)

So, now let's talk about you. You have chosen to homeschool your multi-age children but wonder just HOW can you possibly teach them all at once, keep everyone nutritiously fed at a reasonable cost, keep dishes done, house clean, laundry washed, etc and still have some relaxing time for you as well as spend enjoyable time with your hubby?

Or...

You are currently homeschooling but are overwhelmed and think you have failed at homeschooling your children. You have absolutely at this point come to believe you just cannot teach your children, feed them nutritious meals and snacks without you being thrashed to the bone every day with the house and children in complete and total chaotic shambles by the time hubby comes home, why you just want to give up!

And talk about curriculum! Geez, there's so much to choose from its overwhelming and have you zero clue which one to choose! Possibly the curriculum you have chosen just is not compatible with your children's learning styles, or maybe they just HATE it! They bawl and squall and carry on so, a body would think the world is going to end!
